Government Forgets Farmers' Plight in Administrative Chair Tussle: "What difference does it make if this anti-farmer government stays or goes?"

Sugarcane farmers in Belagavi, Bagalkote, and Uttara Kannada take to the streets; CM siddaramaiah frustrated in his shaky chair!

Bengaluru: A serious accusation has emerged that the state's ruling government is completely immersed in an internal 'chair tussle' and has totally neglected the hardships faced by the state's farming community. Specifically, despite sugarcane growers in Belagavi, Bagalkote, and Uttara Kannada districts protesting on the streets against the price crash, the government is reportedly indifferent.

The Double Hardship Faced by Farmers:

Sugarcane farmers are distressed because they are not receiving the fair price they deserve. Even as the protests intensify, no ministers or legislators are coming forward to listen to the farmers' issues. Farmers who cultivated groundnut, sunflower, black gram (Urad), and soybean are also facing severe financial distress as they are unable to sell their produce in the market.

Administrative Confusion:

The Leader of the Opposition, addressing the farmers' issues, directly attacked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah."CM Siddaramaiah, sir, you are frustrated and losing patience in your shaky chair, snapping at everyone. Your ministers and legislators are confused and distraught due to the leadership change turmoil, and are not coming out of their homes. Then, where should the farmers take their problems, sir?" they questioned.

The biggest question is: who will respond to the farmers' problems when the ministers and legislators are directionless due to the anxiety over a leadership change?

Demand for Resignation:

Intense anger has been expressed against the government for not responding to the distress of sugarcane and other commercial crop growers. Farmer organizations have called this government an 'Anti-Farmer Government'.Protesters are demanding, "What difference does it make if this anti-farmer government, which doesn't respond to the distress of the Annadata (food-givers), stays or goes? How long will this last? The Chief Minister should immediately resign and save Karnataka."

It is visibly clear that the farming community, the backbone of the state, is stuck in a pit of trouble because of an administrative system immersed in internal conflict. It remains to be seen when the government will respond to this political confusion and the farmers' protest.
