Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently made an important statement about his 2011 superhero film Ra.One during a fan meet on his 60th birthday. He revealed that this project is extremely close to his heart and that director Anubhav Sinha put in immense effort for it.
In Indian cinema, especially in the superhero genre, Shah Rukh hoped that Ra.One would create a new trend. He believed it would inspire technically and visually ambitious projects.
Even though many people still love the film today, it didn’t create the new trend Shah Rukh had expected. However, he said that in today’s era of technology and AI, Ra.One would connect better with modern audiences.
Shah Rukh Khan has declared that if director Anubhav Sinha decides to make Ra.One 2, he is fully open to it. He believes audiences would accept Ra.One more today.Arayna Women's Cotton Printed Floral Straight Kurta with Palazzo Pants and Dupatta
During his interaction with fans, Shah Rukh said about his 2011 film Ra.One: "It was a completely new kind of film and very close to my heart. Anubhav worked really hard on it. So, I expected it to start a new trend."
"Whenever I make a film, I want to do something that inspires others. This is very important for our country," he said.
"When I made Ra.One, I thought everyone would say, ‘This is a superhero film!’ It wasn’t just a superhero film—it was about visual effects too. I thought studios would come here and many things would change," Shah Rukh explained.
"It didn’t fulfill those expectations. But as a film, it turned out really well. Even then, I think people liked it," he added.Risha's Attack on Gilli Violates Bigg Boss Rules... Will She Be Out of the House?
"Back then, things like PlayStation, video games, or iPads weren’t as familiar to people. Now we know more about them—everyone has smartphones. It wasn’t like that back then. Today, it would be much more acceptable," Shah Rukh elaborated.
Speaking about Ra.One 2, he said: "If Anubhav decides, I’ll do it. Because he’s the one who made it, and I believe only he can make it again. We really worked hard on it—we can do it again."
Earlier, Anubhav Sinha had spoken about how emotionally attached he was to Ra.One. On the YouTube channel Ulta Chashma UC, he said: "I meet a lot of people who say they love Ra.One. But at the time, the film was declared a flop."
