Ramakrishnareddi, former Divisional Traffic Controller of BMTC's Yeshwanthpur division, to 3 years imprisonment and a fine of ₹70 lakh in a disproportionate assets case. Case Registration: In April 2012, Lokayukta Police registered a case against Ramakrishnareddi under the Prevention of Corruption Act for acquiring disproportionate assets. Following the FIR, raids were conducted at his office, residence, and relatives' places in Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, and Chikkaballapur districts.
Findings from the Raid: It was revealed that he possessed assets worth over ₹2.20 crore, which were 132.84% more than his known sources of income. After proving that Ramakrishnareddi had illegally accumulated wealth, the Lokayukta Special Court imposed the punishment. The offense was established under Sections 13(1)(e) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The Special Public Prosecutor of the Lokayukta presented the arguments in the case.
