According to a recent report, three out of four (75%) of Canadian student visa (Study Permit) applications in the month of August were rejected. The Canadian government has raised the minimum amount of funds (Minimum Fund Requirement) students need to show to cover their living and study expenses. This has made it difficult for many students to provide the necessary financial documentation.

Rejections are also occurring because immigration officers are not convinced that the student is genuinely entering for a temporary purpose (i.e., with the intention of returning home after completing their studies).
