The passing of H. Y. Meti has prompted deep condolences from the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, many ministers, MLAs, and leaders from various political parties, who described his demise as a significant loss to the state's political and social spheres.

Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader, former minister, and ex-MLA of the Bilagi Assembly constituency in Bagalkot district, H. Y. Meti (Hullappa Yamanappa Meti), passed away on Tuesday (November 4, 2025). He was 86 years old.

Death Due to Illness- Meti had been suffering from age-related ailments for the past few days and was undergoing treatment at jayanagar Apollo Hospital. He breathed his last after failing to respond to treatment.

Long Political Career

Constituency: He represented the Bilagi Assembly constituency in Bagalkot district.

Ministerial Role: He served as the Excise Minister in former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's first term (2013-2018).
