The ninth edition of the farmer-friendly Kadalekayi Parishe (Groundnut Fair) is set to take place for three days (November 8, 9, and 10) at the Sri Kadu Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, along with Bhramaramba, in Malleswaram, Bengaluru. The organizers also offered a philosophical note, urging people to have faith in the divine, but not in superstition.

Fair Highlights and Farmers' Focus -

The fair is designed to replicate a traditional rural market atmosphere, focusing on direct sales from growers to consumers. The event provides an opportunity for farmers from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh to sell their produce directly to consumers and street vendors, eliminating intermediaries.

Environmental Focus:

As part of a cleanliness drive, the fair is committed to being plastic-free. Organizers plan to distribute over one lakh cloth and paper bags. A vending machine will be installed at the venue, which will dispense one rupee for every waste plastic bottle deposited by visitors. The Diary of A Young Girl Paperback – 1 January 2014
