Key Demands and Points of the Agitation:

Farmers are demanding that a minimum support price (MSP) of ₹3,500 per tonne of sugarcane be fixed.

Sugar factories must announce this price without deducting harvesting and transportation costs—this is their primary demand.

The system of fair and timely payments, as implemented in Maharashtra, should also be adopted in Karnataka, the farmers insist.

Pending payments for last year's sugarcane must be settled immediately, they demand.

Shri Subhash S. Bagewadi, President of the Secular Janata Dal Bailhongal Taluk Unit, and Shri Ramu Rajput, Vice President of the Youth Janata Dal Secular Belagavi District Unit, were present.
