A chemical engineer reportedly committed suicide in the Arihant Vihar area of Haridwar, Uttarakhand, after suffering significant financial losses from stock market investments and accumulating substantial debt.

The victim, identified as Lavakumar, was found dead in a sealed room, having apparently succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning after burning coal on a room heater. The incident, which highlights the tragic consequences of financial despair, was reported under the Kankhal Police Station jurisdiction.

According to information provided by the Kankhal police, Lavakumar was reportedly struggling with severe financial distress and was battling debt, which led him to take the extreme step. Before his death on Wednesday, he sent a WhatsApp message to his wife and left behind a suicide note detailing his decision.

His wife and family members, alerted by the message, rushed to the room but found it filled with smoke. Lavakumar was found unconscious and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police investigation suggests that a combination of heavy losses in the stock market and an ongoing financial crisis drove the engineer, who was also reportedly a heavy drinker, to despair.
