Bengaluru: A rare incident has occurred in Bengaluru, the country's Silicon City. A massive python was spotted near a residential area in Marathahalli, causing severe anxiety among the locals. Snake Karthik successfully rescued this giant Rock Python and is preparing to release it into the Bannerghatta forest.

Panic Ensues After Sighting of Giant Snake

Local residents were terrified when they saw the python near a house in Marathahalli. They immediately informed the herpetologist and environmentalist Dommasandra Snake Karthik.

By the time Karthik arrived at the scene, the python had quickly retreated into a nearby burrow. Initially, locals assumed it was a common mandala haavu (Indian Cobra or Russell's Viper, commonly used for any large snake). However, when Karthik examined the burrow, he suspected it could not be an ordinary snake.

Massive Three-Hour Operation

After a continuous operation lasting about three hours, Snake Karthik and his team finally succeeded in locating and rescuing the gigantic Rock Python hidden inside the burrow.

It is highly unusual for a python to live in an urban area. Hence, the question of how such a large snake arrived in a densely populated area like Marathahalli troubled everyone.

Was Tiles Transported from Tumakuru the Cause?

When Karthik gathered information from the local residents, a surprising detail came to light. The resident at the location had recently transported building materials, specifically tiles, from Tumakuru.

Karthik hypothesizes that the massive python might have traveled to Bengaluru hidden among the tiles in the transport vehicle. It is likely the snake entered the city, concealed among the tiles, from the Tumakuru area.

Following the safe rescue of the python, Snake Karthik is now preparing to release it into the Bannerghatta forest area, a secure habitat for animals.
