A political debate over the activities of the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) has taken a new turn in Karnataka, with the opposition BJP criticizing the ruling Congress government following a viral video showing a group performing Namaz (Muslim prayers) at a high-security area in the city's international airport.
The controversy erupted after a video circulated widely on social media, showing a group of Muslims offering prayers near Terminal 2 of the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru.
BJP Questions Security and Permission -
The opposition BJP sharply criticized the incident, questioning the security lapse and the government's stance. BJP spokesperson Vijay Prasad shared the video on 'X' and raised serious objections:
"The Congress government denies permission for RSS processions and activities even when they have public permits. But how did the state government allow this mass Namaz event in a highly sensitive and heavily secured area like the airport?"
Allegations of Double Standards
The BJP directed its questions at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Minister Priyank Kharge, accusing the state government of showing double standards:
The opposition criticized the government for refusing permission or imposing restrictions on RSS activities, even when all public area permissions were sought. The BJP questioned how the same government could seemingly ignore security concerns in a sensitive zone like the airport, where public gathering for religious activity is typically prohibited without strict clearance.
The incident has fueled the ongoing political dispute, putting the state government under pressure to explain the alleged security oversight at the international facility. Also Read: Bihar Assembly Election: Second and Final Phase Voting Tomorrow !
