Bengaluru: A 16-year-old girl named Sharmila ended her life by suicide in Kalasipalya, Bengaluru. She was living with her parents, who had gone to a temple in Tamil Nadu at the time of the incident. Kalasipalya police visited the spot and are conducting an investigation. The body has been shifted to the mortuary at Victoria Hospital. A few months ago, Sharmila’s close friend had also died by suicide. Sources say she had been depressed since then, especially when left alone at home.
She would repeatedly talk to her friends about her deceased friend, saying, “Come and sit with me,” and often spoke about their past memories. Her parents, aware of her grief, had encouraged her and even planned to take her to a temple for prayers to help her cope.However, on Saturday, they left her at home and went to the temple. When her grandmother later visited the house, she discovered that Sharmila had hanged herself using a clothesline rope.
