Mohan Bhagwat: 'Can't Put All Muslims in One Bracket, Must Segregate Between Good and Bad'

Avoid Single Categorisation: Bhagwat stressed that blaming the entire community for the actions of a few is wrong. "Don't put everybody into a single bracket," he said, adding, "We are Hindus, we don't think like that." He warned that blaming the entire community only serves to increase the number of fundamentalists (or kattarpanthis).

Bengaluru: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat has stated that it is inappropriate to club all Muslims into a single category and insisted on the need to differentiate between "good people" and "bad people" within the community.

Bhagwat made the remarks while responding to questions during the 'New Horizons' lecture session in Bengaluru on Sunday, an event held as part of the RSS's centenary year celebrations.

Key Takeaways from the Statement:

Avoid Single Categorisation: Bhagwat stressed that blaming the entire community for the actions of a few is wrong. "Don't put everybody into a single bracket," he said, adding, "We are Hindus, we don't think like that." He warned that blaming the entire community only serves to increase the number of fundamentalists (or kattarpanthis). Also Read; PM Modi Hails Youth Participation in Goa Ironman 70.3; Congratulates Annamalai and Tejasvi Surya

Need for Segregation: The RSS chief asserted that a distinction must be made between those who are considered extremists and the majority who hold progressive views. "Good people, we have to segregate from the mob of bad people," he stated, adding that different people require different treatment.

Majority Opposes Extremism: Bhagwat noted that most Muslims in India do not approve of concepts like 'Love Jihad' or 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' (an alleged holy war against India). He urged for contact to be maintained with the moderate section of the community.TIMEX Classics Analog Watch for Men with Round Dial & Water Resistant Man's Wrist Watches

Inclusivity in RSS: When questioned about the entry of Muslims and Christians into the RSS, Bhagwat clarified that while the Sangh is open only to Hindus, individuals from all denominations are welcome to attend its daily shakhas (branches) as long as they come as a "son of Bharat Mata" and a member of the broader Hindu society, leaving their "separateness out."

The statement is seen as the RSS Sarsanghchalak reiterating a softer approach towards the Muslim community while acknowledging the presence of extremist elements that need to be isolated.
