Unauthorized advertisement hoardings are reportedly rampant in parts of the city's outskirts, with locals complaining that concerned officials are neglecting these flex banners, which have even been put up in the middle of the roads.

Commuters and local residents in several areas on the outskirts of Bengaluru are facing severe inconvenience and danger due to the proliferation of unauthorized advertisement hoardings and flex banners that have sprung up even in the middle of roads. Locals allege that concerned officials have shown gross negligence in addressing the issue.

Reports indicate that illegal advertising boards are dominating the landscape in many peripheral areas of Bengaluru. Officials from the Karnataka State Road Development Corporation Limited (KSRDC) are being accused of dereliction of duty for failing to take action against the numerous flex banners obstructing traffic.

Areas Affected and Safety Concerns -

Unauthorized hoardings are widely visible in areas including Mahadevapura, Sarjapura, the road from Kempegowda International Airport to Budigere Cross, and from Kattamnalur to Varthur. The flex banners have been put up strategically, They are placed on nearly every electric pole. They are erected in the middle of road dividers, spaced every 10 feet.

Local residents express outrage that this negligence poses a serious threat to life, citing previous incidents where strong wind and rain caused these hoardings to fall onto vehicles, resulting in accidents.
