In a monthly progress review meeting for Tahsildars, conducted via video conference from Vikasa Soudha under the leadership of Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, extensive discussions took place on various aspects related to Podi Durasti (land record rectification) and land account issuance. Podi Durasti The Podi Durasti work has been delayed due to heavy rains during the socio-economic and educational survey. It is essential to restart the work on a priority basis. So far, around 1.40 lakh cases have been sent for survey for rectification.

An additional 1.50 lakh cases have been referred to the Missing Records Committee. Among 20,000 survey numbers, the number of approved holders is estimated to range from 1 to 1.50 lakh. Approved holders exist in all taluks, with higher numbers in Bantwal, Belthangadi, and Tiptur. Work is also pending in Kunigal taluk of Tumakuru.In Shira, Tiptur, and Chikkannayakanahalli, the work has improved compared to previous efforts. The Minister criticized Tahsildars for improperly referring such a large number of cases to the Missing Records Committee without properly handling the work themselves. In Hosakote, 580 cases are still pending for survey.A significant number of cases remain pending in Holalkere, Hosdurga, Honnali, Belur, and Channapatna. Out of the cases taken up, 20,000 survey numbers are pending, and an additional 25,000 need to be taken up, totaling 45,000 survey numbers. A plan must be formulated to complete this by the end of December.

The target is 41,62,000 cases, as this much land is registered in the names of deceased persons. Of these, 2 lakh cases have already been transferred from deceased owners' names to current owners. This represents about 5% achievement of the target. Progress exceeds 25% in Hubballi, Dharwad, Jamakhandi, Shirasi, Kundagol, Dandeli, Annigeri, and Navalgund.However, in Virajpet, Baindoor, Ponnampet, Madikeri, Anekal, Khanapur, Yelburga, and Gokak taluks, achievement is below 1%. The Minister expressed strong displeasure against Tahsildars who have achieved less than 1%, specifically reprimanding Brahmavar Tahsildar Shrikant Hegde and Hosakote Tahsildar Somasekhar during the meeting. Photo authentication is mandatory for Fauti accounts.

The Minister was furious with officials in several taluks who had processed Fauti accounts without photo documentation.Biometric facial recognition is the next goal, for which photos of current land heirs are essential. The Minister urged officials to prioritize this. Scanning of land records in 49 taluks is complete. In 29 taluks where pilot scanning had not yet started, it has now been fully completed, including in Sringeri, Koppa, Kalasa, and Ajjampur in NR Pura.So far, 50 crore pages have been scanned, with another 50 crore pages remaining. There is no shortage of funds for this project.Gulbarga, Teradal, Kolar, Nidagundi, Sedam, Jevargi, Annavar, Dandeli, Sringeri, and Koppa are taluks where pilot scanning projects have been initiated and completed. In Belagavi, Shirasi, Davanagere, Devanahalli, Shira, Mysuru, and Chikkaballapur taluks, scanning was started early but remains incomplete. Even after one and a half years since February 24, work is not done in the 10 pilot taluks. Previously, 15.39 lakh pages were scanned daily; currently, it stands at 20.84 lakh pages per day. Scanning is low in all taluks of Bidar district.
