Bengaluru: Reacting strongly to the recent terror incident in Delhi, Congress Minister Priyank Kharge launched a scathing attack on the Central Government, demanding the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Speaking to the media in Bengaluru, Minister Kharge made serious accusations regarding the handling of national security:
"If there is the most incompetent Home Minister in independent India, it is Amit Shah. First, he should resign, and then Prime Minister Modi should follow."
Allegations of Intelligence Failure -
Expressing deep anguish over the car explosion near the Red Fort, Kharge questioned the continuous security lapses under the current Central leadership - Kharge referenced a series of incidents, including Pulwama, Pahalgam, Manipur, and now the Delhi car blast, asking, "How many more lives must be sacrificed?"
He questioned the Home Minister's competency, citing reports of terrorists infiltrating from Bangladesh: "Why have they failed to stop the infiltrators? The Home Minister has no accountability." Kharge pointed out that law and order, and police intelligence reports, fall entirely under the purview of the Union Home Ministry. Demand for Moral Accountability -
The Minister strongly criticized the Central leaders, accusing them of prioritizing politics over security duties:
"This horrific incident took place in the very heart of the country. This is an intelligence failure. If they are busy with strategy and speeches, they are unable to manage their department. They have failed to protect the internal security of the country. Therefore, they have no moral right to continue in that position," Kharge asserted.
