Nelamangala: A dispute over rent escalated into a fatal assault in the limits of the Madanayakanahalli police station in Nelamangala Taluk. A retired Sub-Inspector (PSI) and his son allegedly attacked the PSI's nephew with an iron rod, leaving the victim fighting for his life.

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Vivek. Due to the assault, Vivek suffered severe injury to his brain and lost consciousness. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital and is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU.

Reason for the Dispute: Rent of a Three-Storey Building

The incident took place in Chikkabidirukallu village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Madanayakanahalli police station. The dispute was between Retired PSI Jayanna, who resides in the village, and his nephew Vivek. It is reported that a feud had been ongoing between the uncle and nephew for some time over the rent money of a three-storey building owned by Jayanna.

Assault with Rod and Stick

Yesterday morning, the argument intensified. At this time, Jayanna and his son Vishwas both went near Vivek’s house, carrying an iron rod and sticks. The verbal altercation quickly escalated, and Jayanna and Vishwas fatally assaulted Vivek. Vivek became unconscious after being hit with the rod.

Both Accused Arrested

A case regarding this severe assault has been registered at the Madanayakanahalli Police Station. The police acted immediately and took both accused, Retired PSI Jayanna and his son Vishwas, into custody and arrested them.
