Bengaluru: A dangerous stunt attempt allegedly made to impress his female friend ended tragically, resulting in the rider's death and leaving his companion fighting for her life. The incident occurred late at night two days ago.

The deceased rider has been identified as Deepak, reportedly a manager at an airline (Akasa Air). The tragedy occurred due to his rash decision to ride his motorcycle down a flight of stairs on a stretch of road deemed too difficult even for walking.

Deepak was traveling with his girlfriend towards the airport route from Shivananada Circle via Mekhri Circle. Near Windsor Manor, Deepak left the main road and entered a service road. As he proceeded, the road ended, revealing a steep flight of stairs. Deepak attempted the dangerous feat of taking his Bullet motorcycle down the stairs. He managed to successfully descend the first five or six steps, but as he encountered a steeper section, he lost control, causing both him and his friend to crash down the steps.

Both Deepak and his friend sustained severe injuries. Unfortunately, despite the crash happening hours earlier, they remained unnoticed until a Hoysala patrol team found the accident site. Both victims were rushed to a local hospital. However, Deepak succumbed to his injuries yesterday morning. His friend remains hospitalized, battling for her life.
