Bengaluru – The four-day Krishi Mela 2025 commenced today at the Gandhi Krishi Vigyan Kendra (GKVK) campus of the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) in Bengaluru. The fair is being held under the theme: "Prosperous Agriculture – Developed India: Land, Water, and Crop."
The Krishi Mela, which runs from November 13 to 16, was inaugurated by State Agriculture Minister N. Cheluvarayaswamy. The event aims to encourage agri-entrepreneurs and provide guidelines for integrated farming to achieve high yields and income at low costs.
Focus on Science and Empowerment -
The program is designed to strengthen and guide farmers and agri-entrepreneurs who rely on the agriculture industry. Dignitaries emphasized the need for greater focus on farming as a profession and as a scientific endeavor across various sectors of science and agriculture. Awards and Dignitaries -
During the inauguration ceremony, three progressive farmers who have made significant contributions to the field were honored with state-level awards.
The event saw the participation of several prominent guests, including Union Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje, Vice Chancellor of Bengaluru Agricultural University S. V. Suresh, Registrar Narayanaswamy, and Secretary of the Department of Agriculture S. Selvakuamr, among others.
