The news that Karnataka's pride, the environmental activist and Padma awardee 'Tree Mother' Salumarada Thimmakka has left this world emerged on November 14, 2025, spreading waves of sorrow across the state. She had been suffering from ill health and was receiving treatment at Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, since November 2. It is reported that she breathed her last this morning amid a deteriorating health condition.
