A tragic incident has been reported where a woman, unable to bear the alleged continuous abuse and harassment from her in-laws, died by suicide by jumping into the Cauvery river along with her infant child. The woman recorded a distressing video before the act, detailing her suffering.

The deceased woman, Mahadevi, originally from Mysuru, was married to a man named Kumar three years ago. She was driven to this extreme step due to continuous cruelty and harassment during her married life.

In the video recorded just before her death, Mahadevi expressed her immense pain:

Harassment Allegations: She stated that her husband's family members constantly harassed her, using offensive language, saying, "My presence is trouble, and my character is not good," causing her immense mental torture.

Threats: She also revealed that her family members (maternal relatives) were also being threatened.

The bodies of the mother and child were recovered yesterday (Monday). Based on a complaint lodged by the deceased woman's family, police have registered a case and initiated further legal proceedings, including post-mortem examination.
