Udupi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived to participate in the 'Laksha Kantha Geeta Parayana' (Recitation of Gita by Lakhs of Voices) at the historic Sri Krishna Matha, was honored with the special award, 'Bharata Bhagya Vidhata' (Architect of India's Destiny), by the Seer of Paryaya Puttige Matha, Sri Sugunendra Teertha Sripadaru.
This award was conferred upon the Prime Minister during the grand 'Geetotsava' (Gita Festival) program held at Udupi Sri Krishna Matha on November 28th. Due to Modi's visit, the entire Matha and the city of Udupi were filled with an atmosphere of devotion and celebration.
Significance of the Award
The honor, 'Bharata Bhagya Vidhata' (Architect of India's Destiny), bestowed by the Puttige Seer, recognizes Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership in guiding the country on the world stage and his commitment to upholding the nation's development, culture, and religious heritage.
Prime Minister Modi, upon arriving at the Sri Krishna Matha, was welcomed with a 'Purnakumbha' (auspicious traditional reception). Modi went inside the Krishna Temple, had 'darshan' of Sri Krishna, and offered special prayers. On this occasion, PM Modi inaugurated and dedicated the Golden Shield (Kanaka Kavacha) for the Kanakana Kindi (the window through which Kanakadasa saw Krishna) and the Suvarna Teertha Mantapa (Golden Holy Pavilion) built within the premises of Sri Krishna.In the 'Laksha Kantha Geeta Parayana' conducted under the leadership of the Puttige Seer, Prime Minister Modi recited selected verses from the Bhagavad Gita along with the devotees, enhancing the religious and cultural significance of the event.
PM's Commitment to Sanatana Dharma
The Puttige Seer expressed his joy, stating, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always followed and respected Sanatana Dharma and Nationalism. It is a matter of pride for all of us that he has visited our Matha for the first time after becoming the Prime Minister." The Seer further stated that by visiting several Hindu temples across the country, the Prime Minister is paying homage to the nation's cultural heritage.Several dignitaries, including the Governor and Central Ministers, participated in the program. This visit and honor for Prime Minister Modi mark a special milestone in the history of Udupi.
