Colombo: Following the devastating floods and landslides caused by Cyclone Ditwa in the neighbouring island nation of Sri Lanka, India has immediately intensified its large-scale humanitarian aid operation under the name 'Operation Sagar Bandhu'. What is in the Aid?

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar confirmed this information via a tweet and shared the details of the aid materials. The emergency supplies mainly include:

* Tents

* Tarpaulins

* Blankets

* Hygiene Kits

* Ready-to-eat food items

The distribution of this humanitarian aid upholds India's commitment under the 'Neighbourhood First' policy and the 'SAGAR' (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision.

Navy Also Participating in the Operation

Not only the Air Force, but the Indian Navy is also playing a crucial role in 'Operation Sagar Bandhu'. Earlier, naval ships INS Vikrant and INS Udaygiri had already delivered food, medicine, and other emergency relief materials to Sri Lanka. Due to the cyclone, more than 80 people have died in Sri Lanka so far, and thousands have been displaced. Major highways and rail services have been suspended, and life has been completely disrupted. In this difficult situation, India's swift assistance provides great support to the people of Sri Lanka.
