Amazon has announced that it will invest over $35 billion (more than ₹3.14 lakh crore approximately) across all its businesses in India by 2030. This new investment is in addition to the approximately $40 billion Amazon has already invested in India since 2010. With this, Amazon's total investment in India is expected to reach about $75 billion by 2030.This is double the $17.5 billion investment plan announced by Microsoft and about 2.3 times higher than Google's $15 billion project.

Three Major Strategic Pillars

This investment primarily focuses on three major areas, aligning with India's digital and economic priorities:

* AI-driven Digitisation: The investment will be made to expand Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities and deliver its benefits to millions of Indians.

* Export Growth: Increasing e-commerce exports from India.

* Job Creation: Generating more employment opportunities in the country.

Job and Export Targets

* Job Creation: Amazon aims to create an additional one million (10 lakh) direct, indirect, and ancillary jobs by 2030.

* Export Target: The company aims to quadruple the e-commerce exports from India, currently valued at $20 billion, to $80 billion by 2030.

Impact on Other Sectors

* Small Businesses (SMBs): Amazon plans to deliver the benefits of AI to more than 15 million small businesses by providing them with AI tools.

* Infrastructure: The investment will go into building physical and digital infrastructure such as fulfillment centers, transport networks, data centers (Amazon Web Services-AWS), digital payment platforms, and technology development.

* Education: In alignment with India's National Education Policy 2020, the company is committed to providing AI education and career exploration opportunities to 4 million government school students. This commitment underscores the immense faith that global tech companies are placing in the future of India's digital economy and technology sector.
