A horrific road accident occurred today in the Bhikiyasain area of Almora district, Uttarakhand. A passenger bus carrying around 18-19 people lost control and plunged into a deep gorge , resulting in at least 7 deaths and about 12 injuries.

Upon receiving the news, local police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams rushed to the spot. Despite the challenging terrain and depth of the gorge, rescuers with help from locals successfully extracted the injured and bodies.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed profound grief and shock over the tragedy. He extended condolences to the bereaved families and stated that he is in constant touch with the district administration.
Rescue teams were deployed immediately, and instructions have been given to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police to oversee operations on-site.
