Key Demands of Gig Workers' Unions:

Organized by unions such as the Indian Federation of App-Based Transport Workers (IFAT) and Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU), the workers are highlighting

Ban on 10-minute delivery models: Extreme speed pressure endangers lives and must be scrapped.

Fair wages: Adequate pay matching rising living costs and transparent incentive structures.

Fear of Heavy Losses for Restaurants:

New Year's Eve typically sees a surge in orders, making it a peak revenue day for restaurants. The strike threatens massive business hits, as platforms rely heavily on gig deliveries.
