Bengaluru: Vijayalakshmi Darshan, wife of actor Darshan, has expressed her outrage on social media, questioning the perceived delay by the police in acting upon her complaint. Indirectly referencing the recent case involving actress Ramya, she asked, "Why am I not receiving the same response that another woman’s complaint received?"
Background of the Case
Recently, a video of Vijayalakshmi speaking at a promotional event for the movie 'Devil' in Davanagere went viral. Following this, several miscreants posted highly obscene and derogatory comments against her on social media. Distressed by this, Vijayalakshmi filed a formal complaint with the Bengaluru Cyber Crime Police, providing screenshots as evidence.
Key Reasons for Vijayalakshmi’s Outrage
In a lengthy post shared on her Instagram story, she raised several serious questions:
* Allegations of Discrimination: "It has been several days since I filed the complaint, yet no action has been taken. However, in the case of another woman (actress Ramya), action was taken within 24 hours. Isn't the law the same for everyone?" she questioned.
* Suspicion of External Pressure: She expressed suspicion over the delay, asking, "Despite my lawyers following up continuously, the police are not responding. Is this delay due to pressure from some influential persons?"
* Personal Visit: Frustrated by the silence from the authorities, she mentioned that she had to personally visit the Commissioner’s office to remind them of the status of her complaint.
Direct Questions to the Government
In her post, Vijayalakshmi tagged the Government of Karnataka, Home Minister G. Parameshwara, and the Bengaluru City Police. "Justice should not be decided based on who is filing the complaint. The time has come to teach a lesson to those who behave so obscenely. I will not let this matter rest here," she warned.
What’s Next?
Recently, the police acted swiftly in actress Ramya's case, arresting the accused immediately. Following Vijayalakshmi’s public outburst and allegations of bias, it remains to be seen how the Cyber Police will proceed with her case.
