He is crafting massive strategies to secure Congress supremacy across the city, especially in areas where BJP influence remains strong, such as South and Central Bengaluru.

The government is pushing to expand Bengaluru's civic scope beyond the old BBMP limits, incorporating peripheral areas under the 'Greater Bengaluru' framework. Implementing this vision and winning decisively poses a major challenge for Shivakumar.

To counter the potential BJP-JD(S) alliance, he is promoting the 'Brand Bengaluru' concept, emphasizing development and citizen-centric governance. Also Read: Ten Years Without Elected Representatives: Has Bengaluru’s Development Hit a Dead End?

Prior to the polls (mandated by the Supreme Court to conclude by June 30, 2026, with final ward-wise reservations by February 20), Shivakumar is prioritizing infrastructure improvements pothole-free roads, effective waste management solutions, acceleration of suburban rail and metro projects.

He positions urban development as the core election agenda to counter any anti-incumbency wave.In recent party meetings, Shivakumar issued stern warnings to MLAs and ward-level leaders any electoral setback will hold local leaders accountable.
