Underlining India’s ambitious journey toward a greener future, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, concluded a high-level visit to the UAE today. Speaking at the 16th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the Minister made a strong case for international collaboration, revealing that India alone presents a massive $300 billion investment opportunity by 2030.
The $300 Billion Roadmap
Addressing global policymakers and industry leaders, Minister Joshi highlighted that India’s transition to clean energy is not just a national goal but a global opportunity.
Investment Segments: The estimated $300 billion requirement will span across solar and wind generation, advanced energy storage solutions, green hydrogen, grid modernization, and clean energy manufacturing.
The "Make in India" Edge: The Minister invited global investors to leverage India’s stable policy environment and transparent markets, positioning the country as the world’s most attractive destination for sustainable finance.
Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Prosperity
In a separate inter-ministerial dialogue, the Minister linked energy security with rural livelihoods. He highlighted the success of the PM-KUSUM scheme, where farmers are transitioning from Annadata (food providers) to Urjadata (energy providers).

Diplomatic and Cultural Ties
On the sidelines of the summit, Minister Joshi held productive meetings with UAE's Minister of Investment, H.E. Mohammed Hassan Al Suwaidi, and representatives from the European Union and Iceland. Beyond the boardroom, the Minister also visited the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi and the Hindu Temple in Dubai, celebrating the deep-rooted cultural and spiritual ties between India and the UAE.
