Senior Freedom Fighter Bhimanna Khandre Passes Away: Karnataka's Political Pole Star Sets..!

He breathed his last at his residence in Bhalki taluk of Bidar district. His son and current Forest Minister, Eshwar B. Khandre, stated that his father had been suffering from respiratory issues for the past 10–12 days.

Bidar: Hyderabad-Karnataka Liberation Movement frontline leader and former Minister Bhimanna Khandre passes away at 103.
Suffering from age-related health issues for the past few days, he breathed his last on Saturday despite treatment proving ineffective.

Path of Freedom Struggle:


Bhimanna Khandre was not just a politician but a symbol of patriotism.

Struggle Against the Nizam: He actively participated in the movement to liberate this region from the rule of the Hyderabad Nizam. His immense contribution to protecting Kannada language and land in the border areas is unparalleled.

Political Life:


A loyal leader of the Congress party, Bhimanna Khandre was elected as MLA from Bhalki constituency multiple times. He served as a minister in the state cabinet. He laid a strong foundation for the development of Bidar district and the upliftment of the cooperative sector.

Family:


The deceased is survived by his sons Eshwar Khandre (current Forest Minister), Vijay Kumar Khandre, and a large family, relatives, and admirers. In the wake of his father's demise, Minister Eshwar Khandre has canceled all his official programs and rushed to Bhalki.

Several political leaders, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, have expressed deep condolences on Bhimanna Khandre's passing.

Funeral Details:


The body of Bhimanna Khandre has been kept for public darshan. According to family sources, his final rites will be performed with full state honors on Sunday.
