Bengaluru: The suspension of Jnanabharathi Police Inspector Ravi has sent shockwaves across the Silicon City. While the suspension was officially attributed to lapses in a murder case investigation, serious suspicions are now emerging regarding a deeper connection to a 'Multi-Crore Hawala Scam.'
Inspector Seized Hawala Money by Crossing Jurisdictional Limits!
An operation conducted in the early hours of January 15th has now landed Inspector Ravi in deep trouble. Based on credible information, Inspector Ravi and his team chased a Hyundai i10 car allegedly transporting hawala money in Nagarabhavi. When the suspects attempted to flee, Inspector Ravi reportedly crossed his station's jurisdiction and chased them all the way to the NICE Road toll gate.
The ₹1.05 Crore Hawala Case: What Happened?
Joint Operation: To intercept the vehicle near NICE Road, Inspector Ravi sought the assistance of Hulimavu Inspector Kumaraswamy. The duo conducted a joint operation and successfully seized the car.
Cash Recovered: Upon inspecting the vehicle, a staggering ₹1.05 crore in cash was found.
Arrests: Three individuals—Siddharth, Sambashiva, and Dinesh—were arrested in connection with the case.
Case Registered: The seized cash and the accused were handed over to the Parappana Agrahara Police Station, where Inspector Ravi himself became the complainant and registered the case.
What is the Real Reason for Suspension? Multiple Doubts Arise!
The Police Commissioner has officially issued the suspension order on the grounds of "dereliction of duty." However, internal department sources suggest the following factors may have worked against the Inspector:
Missing Cash Allegations: There are serious allegations that a portion of the total cash found in the car has gone missing. Questions are being raised as to whether the Inspector informed senior officials before leaving his station limits to conduct a raid in another jurisdiction. Investigators are now probing the true intent behind this hawala operation, which was reportedly conducted under the pretext of a murder case investigation.
DCP Tasked with Investigation
Taking the matter very seriously, the City Police Commissioner has directed the DCP of Electronic City to conduct a comprehensive probe and submit a report. The investigation is currently focused on determining the actual amount of money present in the car that day, the background of the accused, and why the Inspector bypassed standard protocols to conduct the operation.
In summary, the hawala money transfer case has turned into a major crisis for the Jnanabharathi Inspector. The absolute truth is expected to emerge only after the submission of the DCP's investigative report.
