Bengaluru: A wave of tension gripped the Silicon City after a bomb threat email was sent to the Consulate General of Israel, located within the Halasuru police station limits. The threatening message, which reached consulate officials, claimed that RDX explosives had been planted on the premises and would detonate within a few hours.
Swift Action by Bengaluru Police
Upon checking the email, consulate staff immediately alerted the police. Halasuru police, along with the Bomb Disposal Squad and Dog Squad, rushed to the spot and conducted a thorough search of the entire office and its surrounding areas. After an extensive inspection, no explosives were found, and the police confirmed it to be a hoax bomb threat, bringing relief to the officials.
Accused Identified as a Mentally Unstable Repeat Offender?
Preliminary police investigations have traced the threat email back to an individual named Rajagiri. This is not the first time the suspect has caused such a scare; in August last year, he reportedly sent a similar threat email to the Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Halasuru. Sources indicate that the accused is mentally unstable.
