Husband Arrested for Murdering Wife and Staging it as Suicide: Operation by RR Nagar Police

A man who strangled his wife to death over suspicion of her character and attempted to portray it as a suicide has been arrested along with his friend.

Bengaluru: A man who strangled his wife to death over suspicion of her character and attempted to portray it as a suicide has been arrested along with his friend. The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Rajarajeshwari Nagar (RR Nagar) police station.

Background of the Incident

The arrested individuals have been identified as the husband, Virupaksha, and his accomplice friend, Pundalika. The deceased, Asha, and Virupaksha were originally from Kunigal in the Tumakuru district. The couple had a love marriage six years ago and were making a living by running a 'chats center' in Bengaluru.

Motive Behind the Murder

The couple had been embroiled in frequent and continuous domestic disputes for some time. Asha had accused Virupaksha of having an extramarital affair. Conversely, it is alleged that Virupaksha also suspected Asha’s character. Due to the escalating conflicts, the couple had been living separately for the past month and a half and had even filed for divorce.

How the Plot Was Uncovered

On the 10th of this month, Asha’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her residence. Initially, the RR Nagar police registered a case of Unnatural Death (UDR). However, the truth emerged through the following:

Post-Mortem Report: The autopsy report revealed that the cause of death was not suicide, but rather strangulation.

Interrogation: Growing suspicious, the police took Virupaksha into custody. During intense interrogation, he confessed to murdering his wife with the help of his friend and then hanging the body to stage a suicide.

The RR Nagar police have arrested both accused individuals, and further investigation is currently underway.
