Bengaluru: Customs officials at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) have carried out a major operation, seizing narcotics worth crores of rupees. Approximately ₹38.60 crore worth of cocaine, which was being illegally smuggled from Brazil, has been recovered.

What Happened?

Customs officials grew suspicious of a passenger who arrived in Bengaluru from São Paulo, Brazil. Upon intercepting and conducting a thorough search of his luggage, they discovered the narcotics skillfully concealed inside.

Total Weight: 7.72 kg of Cocaine.

Estimated Value: ₹38.60 Crore.

Accused: A citizen of Brazil.

Legal Action: Customs officials have registered a case under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act and have taken the passenger into custody. The seized cocaine has been confiscated.

The arrested foreign national is currently undergoing intense interrogation. Officials are conducting a deep investigation to determine who this massive consignment was intended for in Bengaluru and whether an international drug mafia is behind this operation.Authorities are also tracking the suspect's background and his previous travel history to dismantle the network involved in smuggling drugs through the airport.
