Jaipur: Amidst the nationwide celebrations of the 77th Republic Day, the discovery of a massive cache of explosives in Rajasthan has triggered intense panic. In a lightning operation conducted in the Nagaur district, police seized approximately 10,000 kg of explosives and arrested one individual.
What Happened in Nagaur?
Acting on precise intelligence, Rajasthan police raided a farm in Harsaur village of Nagaur district. During the raid, a massive quantity of illegally stored explosives was uncovered. The arrested accused has been identified as 58-year-old Suleiman Khan. Nagaur Superintendent of Police Mridul Kachawa stated that the accused already has three criminal cases registered against him.
List of Seized Explosives:
The police recovered the following materials, which were stored on a war footing:
Ammonium Nitrate: Approximately 9,550 kg packed in 187 bags.
Detonators: Blasting caps stored in 9 carton boxes.
Fuse Wires: 24 cartons and 20 bundles of red and blue fuse wires.
Link to the Red Fort Blast?
According to preliminary investigations, it was initially suggested that these explosives were collected for illegal mining. However, Ammonium Nitrate was the same material used in the explosion near Delhi's Red Fort in November 2025. The discovery of such a vast quantity of explosives specifically during the Republic Day period has raised suspicions of a major sabotage plot.
Central Investigative Agencies Step In:
Considering the gravity of the case, Rajasthan police have immediately informed central investigative agencies (NIA or relevant departments). In light of recent drone attack attempts from Pakistan and previous explosions, this case is being investigated from a national security perspective. Accused Suleiman Khan has been booked under the Explosives Act of 1884 and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police Alert: On the occasion of Republic Day, the public is urged to remain vigilant. If any suspicious person or object is spotted, please inform the police immediately.
