Karnataka’s Fiscal Boost: Tax Share Surges to 4.13%
Addressing the ongoing political debate over Karnataka's financial share, Minister Joshi dismissed the allegations made by state Congress leaders as "baseless."
The New Formula: Following the 16th Finance Commission recommendations, Karnataka’s tax devolution share has been increased from 3.64% to 4.13%.
Financial Impact: This adjustment ensures that Karnataka will receive ₹63,049.58 crore in the 2026-27 fiscal year an increase of over ₹11,000 crore compared to the previous year’s allocation of ₹51,876 crore.
The Rebuttal: "The Union Government has significantly enhanced the state’s share. Any claims of 'step-motherly' treatment are factually incorrect and politically motivated," the Minister asserted.

As the Union Energy Minister, Joshi highlighted the massive outlays for renewable energy, aimed at making Indian farmers energy-independent.
