Bengaluru: The case involving the harassment and lewd social media comments directed at Vijayalakshmi, wife of Sandalwood actor Darshan, has reached its climax. The Cyber Police have completed all preparations to file the charge sheet (prosecution report) in connection with this case.
A Massive 50-Page Charge Sheet
The Cyber Crime Police have prepared a comprehensive 50-page charge sheet regarding the incident. Strong evidence has been gathered against the six accused individuals who are already in custody. The primary evidence includes the derogatory comments posted by the accused on social media platforms and the voluntary statements they provided during the investigation.
Police Master Plan to Prevent Bail
According to the law, a charge sheet must be filed within 60 days of an accused person's arrest. If the charge sheet is not submitted within this stipulated period, the accused are likely to secure bail easily. To prevent this, the police have fast-tracked the process and decided to submit the document to the court within the next week.
Investigation Challenges and Key Points:
Evidence Collection: The statements of the accused and technical records of the posts they had deleted will be crucial in this case.
Awaiting Response from Headquarters: The police have already written to the headquarters of social media companies (such as Instagram and X) and are awaiting certain technical data.
Untraceable IDs: Information regarding the origin of several fake IDs mentioned in the complaint is yet to be retrieved, and the investigation into them is ongoing.
Accused in Custody: Even a month after their arrest, the accused have not been granted bail. Currently lodged in Parappana Agrahara Jail, they are set to face further legal hurdles once the charge sheet is filed.
Background: Last December, Vijayalakshmi Darshan filed a complaint with the Cyber Police against continuous trolling and obscene comments directed at her on social media. Taking the case seriously, the police arrested six individuals, including a software engineer.
