The deceased child has been identified as Hadi. The child had come with his mother Uzma from Seelampur to his grandmother's house. At that time, his mother's younger sister Azra (30) took the child to the park outside. There, she allegedly strangled the child to death. Locals said that after the incident, she sat in the garden holding the child's body in her lap and crying.

A person working in the park saw this scene, got shocked, and immediately informed the police. When the police arrived at the spot, they persuaded the woman and took the child's body into custody.
