For the past four days, a wild elephant named 'Bhima' has been roaming the coffee estate areas near Gonibeedu, creating an atmosphere of fear among the locals. As a precautionary measure, the Forest Department has instructed residents not to enter the estates and has urged people to remain vigilant.

It is reported that a herd of about 30 wild elephants arrived in this region from the Belur area of Hassan district. Bhima, who has separated from that herd, is now wandering alone through coffee plantations and near residential areas. This has caused significant distress for farmers and laborers. In response, Forest Department personnel have visited the site to monitor the situation. As a security measure, locals have been advised to avoid going to work in the coffee estates for a few days. Furthermore, the department has requested that people do not venture out alone, avoid leaving their homes at night, and immediately report any suspicious movement to the Forest Department. Officials have urged villagers to stay alert and strictly follow the department's instructions.
