Bengaluru: A woman died in a horrific fire accident that occurred on Sunday night in Gayatri Nagar, under the jurisdiction of the Subramanyanagar Police Station. Due to the swift response of the fire department, three members of the same family were rescued from the brink of death.
Details of the Incident:
The accident took place at the four-story residence of Ramesh Babu, a prominent contractor. Ramesh Babu had rented out the first and second floors, while he resided with his mother and wife in the duplex house on the third and fourth floors. At approximately 9:00 PM, a fire suddenly broke out in the kitchen on the third floor. Within moments, the flames spread across the entire floor, trapping the residents inside.
Death of a Woman – Three Rescued:
In this tragedy, Ramesh Babu’s wife, Savitha (53), was caught in the flames and died on the spot. As soon as the fire broke out, fire department personnel rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation. Amidst the dense smoke, the staff managed to safely bring out and rescue three individuals, including Ramesh Babu’s mother, Sannamma, and his son.
Investigation and Treatment:
Those injured in the incident were immediately shifted to Manipal Hospital for treatment. Following the news, Malleshwaram ACP Venugopal and Subramanyanagar police visited the spot to conduct an inspection.
It is preliminarily suspected that a short circuit in the kitchen may have caused the fire. The police have registered a case and have taken up further investigation.
