A shocking incident occurred on Bengaluru’s Purple Line Metro where a youth terrified passengers by brandishing what appeared to be a gun in his waistband. It was later revealed to be a toy gun used for a prank. Passengers have expressed deep outrage against the youth for pulling such a stunt in a high-security public space.

While traveling on the Purple Line, the individual attempted to scare fellow commuters by showing off the weapon tucked into his clothes. Passengers, who were traveling peacefully, were gripped by fear for a few moments. The youth reportedly sat next to commuters and intentionally provoked them by flashing the object. While some were visibly frightened, others confronted him,

reprimanding him for such reckless behavior and explaining how such pranks cause unnecessary chaos and panic in public areas.

Similar "prank" incidents have been reported previously in Delhi and Kolkata Metros. The emergence of this trend in Bengaluru has left commuters frustrated.
