In Vijayapura city, a truck illegally transporting rice meant for the Annabhagya government scheme was seized during a joint operation by the Food Department and the Police Department. The truck was stopped near the RNS showroom, where officials discovered around 35,060 kg of rice. The rice was reportedly being transported from Chitradurga to Solapur. A case has been registered at the Jalanagar Police Station.

Officials from the Food Department and the Police uncovered the illegal transport of rice meant for the government’s Annabhagya scheme. During the inspection, officials found approximately 35,060 kg of rice in the truck. The rice, which belongs to the Annabhagya scheme meant for public distribution, was being illegally transported from Chitradurga in Karnataka to Solapur in Maharashtra.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Amresh Tandur, Assistant Director of the Vijayapura Food Department, Food Inspector Vijaykumar Gumashetti, and PSI Mahesh Sankh. A case has been registered at the Jalanagar Police Station in Vijayapura, and further investigation is currently underway.
