To provide better support to farmers in the state, the government has announced several new initiatives in the agriculture and dairy sectors. The Babboor District Training Center in Chitradurga will be upgraded into a state-level Agricultural Entrepreneurship Training Center, where farmers will receive specialized training in agricultural business and entrepreneurship. Additionally, under the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme, the government will provide bullock-driven and hand-operated agricultural tools to small and marginal farmers.
To ensure that farmers can easily access essential agricultural inputs such as seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, and farm machinery in one place, the government has announced a plan to establish ‘Raitha Malls’ in every taluk of Kolar district on a pilot basis through MSIL. This initiative aims to make it easier for farmers to purchase necessary agricultural supplies.
Dairy Sector:
The government has also focused on the development of the dairy sector. In the 2026–27 financial year, 100 new veterinary buildings will be constructed with the support of NABARD. To promote local goat breeds, a Boer Goat Breeding Center will be established in Mysuru. Furthermore, to address animal reproduction issues, the government has announced the launch of ‘Phaladhare’ camps in 1,000 gram panchayats across the state under the slogan “One Calf Every Year”, with a budget of ₹5 crore.
The government stated that once implemented, these schemes will significantly benefit farmers, dairy farmers, and rural communities across the state.
