Washington: India’s largest private-sector energy giant, Reliance Industries, is all set to script a new chapter on American soil. US President Donald Trump has officially announced that Reliance will be making a massive investment in a new oil refinery to be constructed in Texas.

First New Refinery in the US in 50 Years!

The United States has not seen the establishment of a new oil refinery in the last five decades. However, in partnership with Reliance, this mega project is now being launched at the Port of Brownsville, Texas.

Total Investment: $300 Billion (approximately ₹27.56 Lakh Crore).

Significance: This stands as one of the largest investment deals in the history of the United States.

Job Creation: The project is expected to generate thousands of new employment opportunities.

Sharing the news on his 'Truth Social' account, Trump stated, "This is a victory for American workers, the energy sector, and the great people of South Texas. My thanks to our partners in India and the Reliance group for this amazing investment." He expressed satisfaction that global investments are returning to the US due to measures like tax cuts.

The new facility is being touted as the world's cleanest refinery. Beyond fueling American markets, it is expected to bolster national security and empower the global export sector.
