The CCB Cyber Crime police have reached a crucial stage in the case involving abusive comments made on social media against actor Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi. In this case, a 473-page charge sheet has been filed against six accused in the 45th ACMM Court.

According to the charge sheet, some individuals — allegedly fans of actor Sudeep — created fake social media IDs and posted abusive and offensive comments targeting Vijayalakshmi. Some accused also uploaded photos with highly insulting captions and sent obscene messages using fake accounts. A few of the accused have reportedly confessed to their actions.

Police have seized the mobile phones of the accused and sent them to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis. The mobile data retrieval report is still pending. Meanwhile, information about 12 social media IDs has not yet been obtained, and police have sent letters to the respective companies requesting details. The CCB has submitted a preliminary charge sheet, and if required, an additional charge sheet may also be filed.

The six accused named in the charge sheet have approached the High Court seeking bail. The High Court has adjourned the hearing to March 24.

Even after 65 days, the six accused remain in jail due to the alleged social media harassment, making them central figures in the case.
