Petrol-Gas Shortage: ‘Skip Cooked Food, Eat Soaked Grains’ – Gadag Seer’s Unique Call to Devotees!

With disruptions not only in petrol and diesel but also in the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), the Seer offered a significant suggestion.

Gadag: As global wars severely impact the supply of petroleum products, Sri Siddharama Swamiji of the Gadag Tontadarya Mutt has advised the public to adopt frugality and alternative lifestyles during these challenging times.

1. Necessity of Change in Dietary Habits

With disruptions not only in petrol and diesel but also in the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), the Seer offered a significant suggestion:

Reduce Cooked Food: Minimize the consumption of food that requires extensive cooking.

Sprouts and Raw Vegetables: Instead, use soaked grains (sprouts) and raw vegetables to save fuel.

Health and Solution: He noted that this is not only beneficial for health but also a small step toward solving the nation's fuel crisis.

2. War Impact Hits Community Kitchens (Dasoha)

The shortage of fuel and cooking gas has even affected the Dasoha (community kitchens) of Mutts across Karnataka, which feed thousands of people daily. The Seer reminded devotees that this is not just a problem for one institution but a challenge facing the entire nation.

3. Put a Brake on Vehicle Usage

In the interest of fuel conservation, the Seer issued several directives to the public:

Avoid Unnecessary Travel: Do not take vehicles out on the road without a valid reason.

Essential Use Only: Use personal vehicles only in unavoidable circumstances.

National Unity: He emphasized that only if we all join hands as Indians can we overcome this global crisis.

Concerns on War and Global Politics:

Referring to how powerful nations, including the USA, are asserting dominance over other countries, the Seer highlighted the following:

"The war currently raging in the Gulf region must come to an immediate halt. War benefits no one; it only brings destruction. Global leaders must establish peace through dialogue and restore the supply chains."

Sri Tontada Siddharama Swamiji stated in a press release from Gadag that political leaders must work toward finding a permanent solution to this fuel crisis.
