BENGALURU: As the historic and famous Sri Madduramma Devi Jatre and Dharmaraya Swamy Jatre festival of Huskur village is set to begin, an order has been issued to completely ban the sale of liquor in two major police station jurisdictions as a precautionary measure.
Where and when is the ban?
To maintain peace, law, and order during the festival, City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh has issued the following orders:
Jurisdiction: Parappana Agrahara and Hebbagodi Police Station limits.
Duration: The ban will be in effect from 6:00 AM on March 14th until 11:00 PM on March 15th.
What are the exemptions?
While this prohibitory order applies to most liquor outlets, exemptions have been granted to a few specific establishments:
Except for Clubs and Star Hotels, all other bars and restaurants, wine shops, and MSIL outlets must remain mandatorily closed.

This strict measure has been taken to ensure that no untoward incidents occur and that law and order are maintained during this massive fair, which attracts lakhs of devotees. The police have warned of stringent action if anyone is found selling or transporting liquor during this restricted period.
