A leopard that fell into a well was safely rescued by forest department staff in Halaga village of Karwar in Uttara Kannada district. The officials used a smart idea by placing a ladder inside the well, allowing the leopard to climb out on its own and return to the forest safely.

An unusual incident took place in Halaga village of Karwar taluk in Uttara Kannada district. Early in the morning, villagers noticed that a leopard had fallen into a nearby well. Seeing the leopard trapped inside the well created panic among the villagers. They immediately informed the forest department about the situation.

After receiving the information, forest department officials and staff rushed to the spot. Instead of trying to capture the leopard directly, they planned a safe method to help it escape on its own. After some time, the leopard noticed the ladder and slowly climbed up. As soon as it came out of the well, it looked around for a few moments and then quickly ran back towards the nearby forest without harming anyone. Villagers who were watching the scene felt relieved after the leopard safely escaped.


Thanks to the timely action of the forest department staff, the leopard was rescued without any injury. The villagers also cooperated with the officials during the operation. After the incident, the forest department advised villagers to remain cautious. Officials said that if people notice wild animals, they should immediately inform the forest department instead of trying to handle the situation themselves. Although the incident caused temporary fear in Halaga village, everyone felt relieved when the leopard safely returned to the forest.
