The incident occurred in Umalooti village of Sindhanur taluk in Raichur district. A woman named Yellamma, who was sleeping in the courtyard of her house due to the intense summer heat, was bitten by a snake that was about 6 feet long. Family members immediately rushed her to a hospital, and after treatment, she is said to be recovering.

According to reports, Yellamma, a resident of Ward No.1 in the village, was sleeping in front of her house as the heat inside the house was unbearable.
