Hubballi: A BRTS bus driver has taught a stern lesson to a motorist violating traffic rules. The driver is winning public praise for stopping a luxury BMW car that had entered the BRTS corridor from the wrong direction and forcing it to retreat.
Where did the incident occur?
The incident took place near the Vidyanagar BRTS station in Hubballi. The BMW driver entered the dedicated BRTS lane—reserved exclusively for 'Chigari' buses—from the wrong side, violating traffic regulations. This caused a direct obstruction to an oncoming Chigari bus.
Driver’s Stern Warning to the Motorist
Usually, violators assume that bus drivers will make way in such situations. However, this bus driver refused to budge. He blocked the path of the car and insisted that the driver take the vehicle back immediately.
Despite the car driver's attempts to find a way forward, the bus driver stood his ground. Eventually, the motorist was forced to put the car in reverse and drive back the entire way out of the wrong route. Only after the car vacated the lane did the bus driver proceed with his journey.
Courage to Curb Rule Violations
The Hubballi-Dharwad BRTS corridor is reserved strictly for buses. However, it has become common for two-wheelers and cars to sneak into these lanes, leading to traffic delays and the risk of accidents. The bravery shown by the bus driver today is being widely appreciated by the public.
A video of the incident is going viral on social media, with netizens commenting, "Rules do not change just because someone owns a luxury car."
