Belagavi: The Belagavi police have issued a stern warning to petty thugs who have been terrorizing the public by brandishing swords over trivial matters in the 'Kunda City.' An intensive operation against those possessing illegal weapons has been launched, sending shivers down the spines of local criminals.

Gangaram Kullannavar, a resident of Kanabargi, had created panic among the public by roaming around with a sword in broad daylight. Acting on precise information, the Malamaruti police conducted an operation, arrested the accused, and seized the weapon. A case has been registered at the Malamaruti Police Station, and the police are now preparing to open a rowdy sheet against him.
Action Against 35 Individuals in One Month
The Belagavi police are determined to uproot the illegal weapon culture in the city.
Surge at Malamaruti Station: In just the last month, the Malamaruti Police Station alone has registered 7 separate cases related to illegal weapons.
City-wide Operation: Conducting raids across various parts of Belagavi city, the police have so far booked nearly 35 individuals under the Arms Act to curb this menace.

The police are closely monitoring youths and petty thugs who use lethal weapons like swords and 'longs' to pose as gangsters and intimidate the public.
